At Crockett’s Gates, we only use the best materials. This is why we only use Iroko for the hardwood gates we craft for homes around Milton Keynes. Iroko is an African hardwood that’s popular across the globe because of its strength and durability, so much so that it’s the favoured wood for building boats and outdoor use. Its straight grain pattern and rich golden-brown colour also add a distinctive look to any garden or driveway.
All our Iroko gates have a base coat of teak oil with UV filters. These treatments help the material maintain its beautiful colour, ensuring the vibrant golden-brown hues don’t fade in the sun. With regular oil treatments, your Iroko gate will last the test of time, providing a stunning look to any home’s garden.
All our softwood gates are made from high-quality Scandinavian Redwood. Known in the trade as ‘unsorted timber’, this type of softwood is famed for its unmatched durability and strength. Scandinavian Redwood is an affordable way to add luxury and quality to your garden with a beautiful handmade gate.
After crafting any of our softwood gates, our team applies a pressure treatment to the timber. Over time, this means the wood fades from a natural green hue to a soft silver tint that complements any garden space.
